Solo Galaxy Forks
Hi, I realise this request is non-tandem related but there might be someone who can help!
Following an accident, my solo Dawes Galaxy requires replacement front forks. The frame size is 25 1/4 inches and is a 1979 model. The current forks are finished in brown / chrome.
Sourcing replacement forks is proving difficult!
Thank you for any help / advice, Allan

More than likely a 1 inch steerer with threaded headset
My initial thoughts would be to speak to SJS cycles if you haven't tried them already,

See above although you would have to check the steerer length
A frame builder would also be able to match your specifications I would think, this might be the easiest way to get something aesthetically similar and exactly what you require.
Likely your biggest problem is getting something off the shelf
I can see threadless options in 1 inch, you could always convert to an 'Aheadset' but I think that would change the classic appearance of your bike (if that bothers you). Someone clever can confirm if a thread can be cut onto a threadless steerer.
I remember thread less forks coming out in the mid nineties alongside 1 1/8th or other oversized headsets so you are looking for quite old tech
Definitely a number of options on eBay. A quick scan shows new stock in USA, used in UK. Depends how you feel about used / exactly what age and use history can be ascertained.
