Hope that helps. You should be able to find a You Tube video and/or a User Manual online that you can download.

When you get on the rally find someone with a Garmin to show you how to operate it to guide you round the course. Martin Green is better at this than me as I don’t use mine very often and usually forget what to do until I have practised a couple of times.

When you have the files in Garmin connect open each gpx file (called “courses” in Garmin terminology. You will find the list of courses hidden in the “More” menu (three dots) and then in “Training and Planning” then “Courses”. Open each in turn (each will show a small scale map) and click the Send to Garmin icon which is a small blue arrow pointinf at a watch. Then you need to connect your Garmin to the PC by bluetooth or cable. It will show connected in the home menu of the Connect app. Then you just need to activate the “Synch”. On my iPad it takes a while and looks like nothing is happening but eventually the “courses” will appear on the Garmin.

You need the “Garmin Connect” application on your laptop. Drag and drop each gpx file onto the Garmin Connect app. Or find some way of getting the files to the app. I am not sure with a PC because I use a Mac or iPad but you should find help on You Tube.

Useful Russell, thanks. I'll check, even though we have a different make.

Sorry for the multiple posts, it looks like if you try to edit a post after publishing the forum creates a duplicate, not that you can edit as it helpfully tells you that you don't have permission to edit your own post.

We recently needed to upend the tandem to get it through a gate and were horrified by the amount of rusty water that came out of the captains seat tube. Investigations showed that the drainage hole in the bottom of the seat tube was blocked by grease so the tube was just filling up. On top of that d more ...

Have just sent Neil the following route sheets that are the kind of surfaces we like to ride, i.e. on paved surfaces with just a little bit of walkable narrow/rough path if necessary: Sunday 48 km, Monday 64 km Tuesday 60 km,Thursday 62 km, Friday 62 km. These are for our own use - no guarantees but more ...

This month's ride will take place on Saturday 16th August, starting at 10:30 sharp opposite Lyall's Cafe in the Market Place, Eynsham (5 miles west of Oxford). I am working on these and will send them to Neil when ready. I am trying to ensure that they visit all the things to see and little towns without making them too long. Because of a shortage of roads I am using some wider cycle paths after consulting my captain!

I'll print a set Pat and Mike

We too would like routes that stick to normal roads, but we're already en route to the rally so can't print up anything. Might someone be able to do that for us so we can collect them when we arrive? Pat and Mike Strauss
